Normothermic Regional Perfusion in Controlled Donation After the Circulatory Determination of Death: Understanding Where the Benefit Lies
Controlled donation after the circulatory determination of death (cDCDD) has emerged as a strategy to increase the availability of organs for clinical use. Traditionally, organs from cDCDD donors have been subject to standard rapid recovery (SRR) with poor posttransplant outcomes of abdominal organs, particularly the liver, and limited organ utilization.
Mitochondrial Function After Normothermic Regional Perfusion or Direct Procurement Followed by Hypothermic Oxygenated Machine Perfusion in Heart Transplantation After Circulatory Death
Strategies to minimize ischemic damage during heart transplantation (HTX) by donation after circulatory death (DCD) are warranted because the inevitable ischemic injury linked to DCD HTX deteriorates mitochondrial respiratory capacity and ultimately graft quality. This study aimed to examine the myocardial mitochondrial function during DCD HTX with hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE) and compare the effect of normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) with that of direct procurement and perfusion (DPP).
Renal Cell Carcinoma and Kidney Transplantation: A Narrative Review
Kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) are at increased risk of developing renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The cancer can be encountered at different steps in the transplant process. RCC found during work-up of a transplant candidate needs treatment and to limit the risk of recurrence usually a mandatory observation period before transplantation is recommended.

International Travel for Organ Transplantation: Provider and Patient Perspectives
Organ allocation in the United States to non-US citizen, non-US residents who travel for transplant (NC/NRTx) is controversial. Current policies may not be informed by stakeholder opinions, as limited data exist assessing the knowledge or opinions of providers or patients on this issue.
Demographic Trends in Liver Transplant Survivors After 3 Decades of Program Implementation: The Impact of Cohort and Period Effects on Life Expectancy
Demographic analyses may reveal current patterns of change in the outcomes of rapidly developing medical procedures because they incorporate the period perspective.
